Guatemala wants to import shrimp, crawfish, beef to Russia
MOSCOW, Sep 2 (PRIME) -- Guatemala’s veterinary service plans to send to Russia’s veterinary watchdog a list of companies wishing to start imports of shrimp, crawfish and beef, by September 15-18, the service said in a statement following a meeting of the Russian watchdog and the country’s ambassador to Russia.
“Speaking about the possibility of supplying goods regulated by the Russian watchdog, the ambassador pointed out such goods as shrimps, crawfish and beef,” the service said.
On August 7, Russia banned imports of beef, pork, poultry, fish, cheese, dairy products, fruit and vegetables from Australia, Canada, Norway, the U.S. and the E.U. for one year as an answer to Western sanctions. Since then, it has been in talks with other countries on increasing supplies to replace the banned ones.
